Capitol Records

Peter Jones and I -- don't ask me why -- just spent a half hour trying to remember every significant act who recorded on Capitol in the 50s. Here's our list, and this is all off the top of our heads -- Googling occasionally to verify, but no Google-fishing.

Jack Teagarden
Frank Sinatra
Gene Vincent
Stan Kenton
Nat Cole
birth of the cool
Jonah Jones
the cheers
the five keys
June Christy
Jackie Gleason - which was Bobby Hackett
Geoge Shearing-
Peggy Lee
Artie Shaw
Yma Sumac
Stan Freberg
Eartha Kitt
Ferlin Husky
Duke Ellington (at least one album)
Mark Murphy
Dean Martin
Louis Prima
Keely Smith
Dinah Shore
Tennessee Ernie Ford

There must be a use for this knowledge.

There isn't?

When did Eartha record for Capitol? I have her on a UK album that was made by EMI, but her US albums and singles were on RCA, MCA (Decca), Kapp, DRG, and MGM...
